ETAH AND BEYOND - Donald MacMillan, Chapman and Hall, London, 1928, Vg 284 page hardback in original red cloth, gilt titles, maps, B&W plates, book club sticker fep and stamp on title page, Macmillan led the expedition in the wooden ship Bowdoin to Smith Sound on the northwest coast of Greenland in 1923-1924 to observe magnetic fields and the atmospheric electricity, and provides good description of the Inuit people in the area. It was partly sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The foreword is by Gilbert Grosvenor. MacMillan with Peary in the 1908-1909 North Pole attempt. "Bowdoin" spent the winter of 1923-4 at Refuge Harbor on Inglefield Gulf, the party doing scientific work, and also installing a bronze table in memory of the Greely expedition. $65
