First Edition. 196 page hardback, B&W plates, sketches, music scores, A very personal memoir of Shackleton's 1907 Nimrod expedition. Murray was a biologist and manager of the expedition's base camp. He later died while serving on the Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1913-1914. Marston was the expedition artist. Reminscences, often humourous, of expedition life & its personnel. Extensively and somewhat eccentrically illustrated with photographs and drawings by both men. Chapter on Chanties with music at the rear. In original blue cloth, bumped corners, rubbing, chips on spine, grubby.
