EVEREST 1933 - Hugh Ruttledge, Inscribed by the author "Claude..from Hugh in memory of many climbs - May 1934" (Claude Butlin, Commander Royal Navy) Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1934. Hardcover, VG+. First U.K. Edition. 390 pp, 3 large fold-out maps, 1 other map, 3 diagrams, frontispiece with tissue-guard and 59 monochrome photographs. British expedition led by Ruttledge on north side of Everest reached over 28,000 ft. which was highest point achieved at the time. A classic account of this early Mount Everest mountaineering expedition from Tibet, with a team including Eric Shipton. Scarce original dustjacket in near perfect condition, almost no foxing, spine v slightly mottled spine relaid professionally, overall clean and tight inside,new endpapers, overall. VG - $850
