Bound in original greenish-gray cloth with black spine lettering. jacket complete, one small tear/repaired + few minor chips, Banjo playing Hussey was meteorologist & geologist to Shackleton's 1914-1917 Antarctic expedition, and one of the 22 men who remained behind on Elephant Island. Most of this book concerns the 'Endurance' expedition. This account of the Elephant Island 'castaways' is the only firsthand one published besides Frank Hurley's.
