THE HEART OF THE ANTARCTIC - The British Antarctic Expedition 1907-09, Ernest Shackleton, 1st edn., 2 volumes, William Heinemann, London, original blue cloth - faded mainly on spine, binding solid though two obvious splits to cloth on spine edges ( easily repairable) with no loss, silver titles and silver device on front covers rubbed but overall pretty good/better than average, ex-lib stamps on prelims...but none throughout and none on spines, book could be vastly improved by adding new endpapers to remove lib stamps. B&W plates throughout, 3 fold-out maps in rear pocket vol 11 plus fold-out panorama of peaks - all VG - a better copy than this description sounds - scarce - $NZ850 (Hu collection)
